Put simply, Males screw Females... This isn't us trying to be clever - it's the screw industry!
Male screw types, screw into Female screw holes.
Do you want to screw our product into your fitting? If yes - You want our product to have a male screw
Do you want to screw your fitting into our product? If yes - You want our product to have a female screw.

Female Screw hole - requires an adapter with male screw.
Male adapter- this can be screwed into a Female screw hole
Male adapter-screwed into female hole
Male screw - requires an adapter with a female screw.
Female adapter- a Male screw can be screwed into this.
